best translation app

Does anyone have a favorite french translation app they could recommend.. I need to communicate with a french speaking family.Free would be great but would pay..

I always use google translate, it's one of the options on the top right corner when you go to the Google page. Could use app or webpage. I have found it translates well

St.Boniface French teachers:

Teacher 1 - Duo Lingo as a learning app. As far as learning goes, I strongly recommend Pimsleur - by far the best. If you want translation, google has gotten much better. Or Lingui, or Wordreference.

Teacher 2 - Wordreference an app? There are also linguee and reverso.
