I went out to investigate a small pile of snow and grass in our front yard. It looked like an animal had pushed the snow and grass into a pile about 12” in diameter.  
 
I dug into the pile and found the rear half of a small animal. Might be a rabbit or maybe a cat. Tough to say when it’s covered in snow and frozen grass.  
 
My question is, would this have been done by another animal? If so, what kind of animal?  
 
I should state that we live within the city limits in the South End.

Call animal control. You could call in the AM and they will come pick  
It up.

Odd as it sounds both cats and dogs do bury their kills or the remains of their kills, dogs do it so they can snack on it later, but I’m not sure why cats do it, but they do.

We were pretty sure it was animal, but didn’t know what kinds bury their kill.  
Probably a cat, as we haven’t seen loose dogs or foxes around here, but there are loose cats.
