I found this in a miscellaneous filled box and don't know what it is. Does anyone have any ideas what it could be? The 3 hook type things do not bend. The whole thing is very strong.  
 
My first thought was some sort of roasting accessory, but that still seems odd.

Possibly for holding some fire wood beside an indoor fireplace

I figure your guess is correct, grew up in a house that was full of antiques, although at the time we didn’t consider them antiques.

I should have put the dimensions. Haha! That never even crossed my mind since I mentioned it reminding me of a roasting accessory. It is 1' long and each side is about 6" wide.  
 
It reminds me of something to put a chicken on to roast, but I am not sure that that is its purpose as it could not stand in a roaster due to its bent wire pieces...and there are only 3, which also makes me wonder. I attached another picture.  
 
We wondered if those parts were for hanging it over something, but then as a shelf, it wouldn't hang in such a way as to have a flat surface. Things would slide off. I still think it has something to use in an oven (since the edges remind me of wire cookie rack joints)...but what?  
 
I don't think it fits any of the guesses described above, although they are fun & interesting guesses. You guys are funny.

There are clip like things on the back...no? That's my guess. Not sure what you would hang it on though.

Something to hold bathroom hand soap bar?..... That's my best guess

I'd venture to suggest that at one time the piece was flat and that the legs were straight. It was probably from a portable barbecue of the round type and would have been placed above the charcoal.  
It looks like it was trodden on or driven over as you can see a weld opening in the last picture.

If it's been altered maybe at one time it was a cookie . cake cooling rack. those little barb type things could of be the little feet. if flattened .

All of these seem interesting. I really just don't know. Nothing seems to fit what it is, but good guesses. Thanks everyone.  
 
If I can find out what it definitely is, I will post here.

Maybe its for inside a roaster pan to keep meat up off the drippings?
