Do minors who work part time qualify for EI during this pandemic?  
I don’t know much about EI, so thought I’d ask.

work at EI, so any info I share is dated. Usually advise people to call and get correct info and not depend on hearsay. That said I suspect it is difficult to get through, so I will venture a little info and suggestion. There is no limitation on age for EI. Qualifying depends on how many hours the applicant has worked. Also, the regular rules do not appear to apply with the situation we are in right now. The best thing to do is to have the minor apply as no one can say for sure unless they have all the info (and there are many issues to qualify). Apply, the worst that can happen is the minor won't qualify but you will not know for sure unless they actually apply.

You need 600 hours in the last 52 weeks to qualify for the updated sick leave. I would read through the do you qualify sections on the service canada website and see what you think.
