I have to feed from the soup kitchen at lunch time quite often. This is a hats off, double thumbs up Thank you for the ones that made the meal up for Friday. Was excellent, I believe it was a nice portion of chicken/pot pie and mashed/creamed potatoes with jello and few homemade fig newton's. Was a really nice treat as definitely isn't what usually comes out of that kitchen. Thinkin it must have been put on by one of the colonies, but whomever it was I do wish they receive this Thank you

anyone have a recipe for homemade fig newtons?

You could write them a note (and either mail it or give it to them) the next time you are there for a meal. That way, you will know they got it, rather than taking a chance of them hopefully seeing it on here. Just sayin. There is a place called "everyone eats" for the supper meal (it runs out of prairie oasis). Not sure if you know about it. It is for everyone, I just haven't tried it yet. They charge $8.00 for a meal (if you can pay that), but they offer meals for free (if you cannot afford to pay). Their meals look good (oh Mon Wed Fridays only). I am going to try it one time, just so I don't have to cook. Like I said, it is for everyone and you can also buy someone a meal or two if you can. I like the idea.
