Has anyone here taken the GED test recently? What was the process like and was it difficult? How did you need to prepare for it? Would you have rather taken classes for a diploma, why or why not?  
 
I’m considering it over taking classes for many reasons but I’m still unsure.

Two family members did their GED in the past 3 years . Both did it a ACC .  
There’s 5 areas general knowledge, Language Arts (Reading): Language Arts (Writing): Social Studies: Science: and Mathematics.  
Basically each one is separate so say you pass everything except math, the you can do rewrite just for that subject.  
Cost is only 75$ (15$ each)  
They did it this way as they could not commit themselves to attend classes -that’s why they quit high school in the first place and as one said “it was a way faster only 2 part days compared to weeks in classroom.

GED testing is delivered via Adult Learning and Literacy. The website has a FAQ section that may be helpful. In Brandon, you can register to write the tests at ACC.  
You can prepare for the GED on your own (purchase the books) or attend an adult learning centre if you want/need tutorial support.  
Brandon Literacy Council is an adult learning centre that offers GED prep and/or high school courses for Mature Student High School Diploma. They have continuous intake throughout the year and your program is individualized to your needs. There are no formal classes, so you make your own schedule. Depending on how many credits you need to graduate, taking courses may be an option. (you only need 8 credits for a MSHSD and you can sometimes use ones you already have!)
