Equality in the workplace

I don't comment too often here, but I do read a lot of the topics from the ebrandon home page. Recently, I was looking over the "minimum wage" topic and had a small laugh at a member who mentioned Democracy and how it would be wrong to treat students differently, despite the fact that they might not be as experienced or trained.
Here is a link to a current job with the Manitoba Government, and it is a job based in the city of Brandon.

If you scroll to the bottom, you will see the following:
"Employment Equity is a factor in selection. Applicants are requested to indicate in their covering letter or resume if they are from any of the following groups: women, Aboriginal people, visible minorities and persons with disabilities."
Translation: If you are not an able-bodied Caucasion Male, please tell us so we can give the job to you instead!
As I said, the member who mentioned democracy, well, this is your Democracy, and freedom, and how the province of Manitoba treats it's taxpayers.
I am very interested to see how people feel about this, personally, if you couldn't tell, it is thouroughly disgusting to me, and ALL of their job offerings have this tagline at the bottom.
Here is another quote within the job listing.....
"Preference will be given to Aboriginal people, visible minorities and persons with a disability."
