eBay email scam!
1/29/2008 at 10:26 AM
Received a fraudulant email this morning.
Warning!!!! this email looks professionally producted by the eBay company but if you look at the link which is in the email directing you to "log in" to your account you will notice that it is NOT the ebay website.
These people get your login information when you type it into this form on this site and then they can get your credit card infromation from your ebay account. Please beware of any links and always check the link address in your address bar if you are directed to a site other than the company which is sending the email. Always TYPE the website address of the company into the address bar. Most companies will not even place a link in their emails if they need you to update any information in your account with them. Always use caution when following links.
Below is the email I received, along with images it looked like it came straight from the company.

eBay Security Center (the link that was embedded here was actualy legit, this is how they fool you into thinking the next link is legit as well!!)
