...the fact that its the happiest place in the world to live. I would think that high taxation would be a problem if it WAS a problem.
Surveys taken show that people living in Denmark are willing to pay even higher tax rates as long as the money is used properly and with transparency.
Free health care
Free education through university
Free pres:criptions
Robust social programs
It works there because many are willing to live in communal-like arrangements. They don't live in 2500 sq/ft homes, they don't own 3 cars, and they don't live a hour from where they work, shop, and have recreation. Also, the government is accountable for the money.
You might not want to pay 62% but I would happily pay it if I was getting value for my money. Right now, all my taxes have done is ensure that Drew Caldwell has a lifetime pension for 16 years work. Find me another career that pays as well as the North American government.
