So I came home from work and noticed that my gate was left open and there is a large pile of p**p on my driveway...

I didn’t notice anything when I left for work but doesn’t mean that it didn’t happen then. It must have happened between 4pm yesterday and noon today..

Just weird and not sure if this has happened to someone else before? It’s at the very top of my driveway which is probably 30 feet from the sidewalk. So it’s not like a pet owner didn’t clean up after themselves. Just feeling a little grossed out! Also unnerved that someone helped themselves into my fenced backyard when I wasn’t home.

Someone's big dog was roaming? That would explain location of the pile (I assume it is from a dog? )

The open gate- I could see a would be thief leaving it open. Is there nothing missing from the yard? Or, Could it have been left not latched properly and the wind blew it open?

it is gross but not the worst thing i guess :S

We get deer wandering through our neighbourhood, especially the last few weeks. They've left some large poops on our sidewalk & lawn, as well as the small balls they usually leave.

The way the latch is on the gate the wind wouldn’t be able to open it. Just a strange situation.. I guess I’ll keep an eye out for anything else! :S

Do you yourself own any pets that are allowed to roam? Maybe someone returning a favor? Hard to say what the motivation for such a thing might be.

I'd be slightly miffed about an open gate but thank goodness it was only poop and at least there was no damage Halloween prank maybe?

deer droppings are not huge it can big pellets but not large like a dog poop

I had this happen a couple months back. Gate left open and human feces along side of our garage.(gates have locks now) Must have had to go bad.But only happened the one time.Hope you find your culprit.
