hey has anybody crossed at either the Peace gardens or Emerson recently during the shutdown? Just wondering about wait times. Thanks

Went through to border services first week of January. No wait whatsoever- wasn't busy.

Always avoid Emerson whenever you can. They stop and question just about everyone. Never a problem at Dunseith ( Peace Garden).
Just be careful for the question "Have you ever tried marijuana ? " If you answer anything but " no" they could deny you entry .

Crossed last Sunday and no issues. They didn't ask about marijuana either but I guess they could.

Are you suggesting people lie to the US Customs officers?

That sounds like a fantastic way to get a lifetime exclusion order from entering the US.

Someone I know waited 45mins at the Peace Gardens crossing, no idea if it's related to the shut down or not.

From what I understand, admitting to pot use can disqualify you from entering that one time. But lying to a customs official can result in a permanent prohibition from entering, and possibly even jail time.
