Motion sickness

I also get motion sick and was somewhat reluctant to try a cruise but decided to go and thoroughly enjoyed it and probably would go on another one. As mentioned above, unless the water is very rough you don’t really notice the motion so much on the large cruise ships. I did use the patch behind my ear the entire time and did have some Gravol lozenges in case I needed them. A couple of suggestions - get a cabin with a balcony so you have easy access to outdoors and fresh air should you find yourself feeling a bit nauseous. Also, wherever we sat (dining room, lounges, on deck, entertainment venues, in our cabin, etc.) I always tried to sit facing the direction the ship was traveling. This tactic helped me immensely when traveling by train in Great Britain - always try to face the same direction the vehicle (ship, train, bus) is traveling. Enjoy your cruise, the experience is a wonderful one!
