Between CAA , gov’t , seniors or military which gives you the best deal?

Probably depends on the hotel. Some don't give discounts of any of those, or only some. Best to go on the individual hotel website (ie- not a site like Travelocity etc), and check which discount(s) are given at that particular hotel.

The best rate is usually the government or military rate however you need to show ID upon check in to confirm this. Awesome when we travel with my brother in the armed forces, sucks when we travel solo haha. I find that signing up for the free hotel rewards program usually gives the best rate overall, and often has additional perks. For instance - holiday inn has their own IG rewards. We got the room for $35 off the best rate we could find online by booking directly through the website, got free breakfast at the restaurant in the morning and got a later check out as perks for being a rewards member - it was free to sign up. It does vary from hotel to hotel though.

on Kayak, Expedia, and Booking.com and then grab the best rate. Of course, when you are member, there are rewards with each.

I can see getting a rewards membership if you travel a lot but I’m just going once or twice a year and wanted to know which of the 4 choices usually gets the best discount.

Search on those websites you can compare prices with and then boom with the hotel direct. They can give you the best price If you deal with them direct. When you are taking to them, ask them what discounts they offer for all that could apply to you.
