Family Friendly vacations

I'm trying to find a vacation to take my nephew on as a birthday/christmas present. He's 7 years old and loves any kind of adventure. Does anyone have any ideas that are not too hard on the budget and last 4-5 days? We both have our passports, so the USA is an option. I was thinking Minot but I'm not sure what there is for kids there. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
