Hi if you have any experience in camping at Rivers campground could you share it? Can you swim in the lake? and is it clean? whats the fishing like? or anything about the campground? Thanks in advance

I live 2 minutes from the lake. Great fishing but wouldn't recommend swimming in it. But a quick dip if your tubbing or something wont hurt. The camp ground is kept quite nice.

The fishing is so-so and yes read your angers guide as there is a reduced catch and a slot size limit.  
 
No walleye between 18-28" can be kept with a maximum of 4 kept regardless of what license you have... Yes the COs check so remember to leave some skin on.  
 
Better fishing below the dam.  
 
Fishing is alot better at clear lake, swimming is in clear cool water with a good beach.

I agree Clear Lake is much better but no way we will get a site in aug on a weekend there(already checked). We are in Morden Winkler area and are looking for a new place that is not too far for a weekend. Rivers would be our limit at 2.5 hours. We thought of Lake Williams but no electrical and we would like that. Went to St Malo and loved it there but can't get a site in aug. either. Any private campgrounds with private sites and even a pool anyone can think of?

We use to have a cottage there - water is good for swimming - dock and small beach. Fishing use to be fairly good. Worth checking it out.

Last time I swam there got a great case of swimmers itch. And that was after I showered.

I have lived in Rivers for 15yrs, the fishing below the Dam is always a hot spot, the lake at times well let's say you can walk on water, a dip is advisable nothing to long. The campground is also alright, new lots have been placed in the campground but I would recommend the following:  
 
You can check Souris, decent campground, outdoor pool, the swinging bridge of course as well is there is a great tower on top of the hill by the campground that overlooks Souris.  
 
Adams Lake down near the Peace Gardens is also pretty good.

Sandy lake is great,fishing Ian very good now,if you got a boat,also fishing is good at Beaufort lake about 5 minutes from sandy lake

Killarney, Max Lake, Elgin.... Rivers is about the same quality of all of these. Love them all.

We were at rivers tonight. Water looked fine, there were people swimming, lots of people on the beach.
