    Southern Ontario trip

    I am planning a trip to southern Ontario and trying to find fun things to do in the summer months. I have two small children to keep in mind. Anyone have any suggestions on places or thibgs to do? Would love to see what hidden gems there are that I may not find with online research!

    Kakabecca falls is beautiful! There are a lot of landmarks to stop and take pictures with (good Google search will give you the map) Big red chair, Winnie the pooh, Giant Goose etc.  
    Amethyst mines near Sudbury I believe. The scenery is just stunning, lots of pull of picnic sites along the lakes with clear blue water and Sandy beaches! Enjoy!

    I know that it's not really southern, but if you can stop in Thunder Bay. Lots of cool things to do and there are a few things that you can only get there:  
     
    1. Persians - a hybrid pastry of donut/cinnamon bun with icing (need I say more) AMAZING  
    2. The Hoito restaurant - go for breakfast and enjoy some Finnish pancakes!

    Grenview Aviaries, Peelee Island, Point Peelee (depending how far south your going)  
    Also agree with ALS, beautiful place and the splash park is amazing!
