Have you ever lived in Nunavut?

Just wondering if some body lived in Nunavut or has experience as their summer job there? How much is the rent? How much you have to spend for food? What are choices of tranportation in the city and how much does it cost if you have no car. How about clinics and doctors?
How friendly are people over there? Any experince will be appreciated.

I lived and worked all throughout the arctic from 1990 to 1993. It was terribly expensive then, I can only imagine what it is now. The cost of everything was usually offset by well above average wages.

It is not a town. I no someone who works for the Northwest trading company i think and he loves it. He is moved around a bit.

I lived in the North for over 15 years. Where in Nunavut are you asking about?

Actually could be various places around Nunavut, but most probably Iqaluit or Cambridge Bay.

Rankin Inlet

My boyfriend worked in Rankin Inlet last summer as a summer student. Rent was $2000+, grocery items are higher for sure but not unreasonable. Many people walk or buy quads while living there. He really enjoyed the experience.
