My daughter heard that there is tunnels by the stepping time dance studio. Just wondering if anybody knows they were used for.

I have been told that at one time there was a central heating system in downtown Brandon. Tunnels or pipe chases were used to get the steam piping from one location to another. This might be what she has heard about.

Apparently there is a tunnel that was suppose to house officials in case of a bomb attack. I have seen the opening of two sides of them and a room/bunker that had a blackboard with names and info of contacts.One had a entrance in a building on Pacific and the other was on Princess.

Bomb Shelters

There was a bomb shelter built in the basement of the Federal Building (11th and Princess) in the 1950s. It has been decommisioned. The entrance was at the east door (on Princess Avenue) of the building. Interesting to think that it may be connected to a network - I've never heard anything about that. There was also a bomb shelter at CFB Shilo but it was also decommisioned about 10 years ago.
