Mum's

The original Mum's restaurant was where the sushi place is now, if I recall correctly. A fine restaurant for brekky in the a.m. where lots of tradespeople, contractors, MTS, Hydro, Westman Communications etc and so forth indulged in food and company on their way to work or on morning coffee break. A good place for lunch too. And it was always a good place to take visiting out-of-town relatives for a very decent supper at a decent price. This was back when Robin's Donuts was sited where Clay Pot is now and Sally's Bakery was across the street, according to my 2000 Henderson's Directory. Mum's opened their 24th Street corner shop at some point before then (2000) to expand their morning beakfast and coffee business. I don't remember a Mary Browns ever being there, but on the other hand I can't recall what was there before, but I think that that Mum's building was built new for Mum's. Anyway my 2000 Henderson's shows 'Mum's Family Restaurant (Bob and Linda Warren) 504-24th St. ( 9 employees)
