January 4th 1817: The first stagecoach service began between York (now called Toronto) and Kingston, Ontario. The fare was equivalent to eighteen dollars.
Known public transportation did not begin in Brandon until 1913 when the Brandon Municipal Railway started running a Streetcar service until July 1932 when the McArthur Transportation Company replaced the Streetcars with motorized Buses. The taxpayers of Brandon continued to pay for the Street Railway System for another twenty years even though it never existed.
In 1955 Brandon transit was started by a private organization, but was taken over by the city two years later.
