Two Women politicians in history

January 9th 1868: Irene Parlby, a Canadian woman's right’s leader, was born in London England on this date. She later served in the Alberta Legislature and became only the second woman in the British Commonwealth to hold a Cabinet position.
In 1935, the first woman to be elected to Brandon city council was Mrs. Rhoda Tennant, (1891 – 1970).
