March 31,1945 the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan agreement ends. Created to quickly train pilots and support staff for the war it was a joint effort between Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand. Canada would be a centre for most of the activity with 107 schools nationally – including Brandon Manitoba.
By the time the program ended on a total of 131,553 students (50,000 of them pilots), would be trained. In memory of this wartime plan the only air museum dedicated solely to the people trained under this plan is located at the Brandon Municipal Airport in restored CATPM Hanger #1.
This museum showcases aircraft, artefacts, and memorabilia. It is a National Historic site.
