I didn't know what else to call it . . .  
 
but I found this dressing bonnet a few years ago. Judging by the location of where it was found (tucked away in a closet shelf) and how, I think it had been there since whomever wore it placed it there.  
 
Very exciting discovery!  
 
It has yellowed over time and I am too scared to try and clean it. The hand work looks like it is very old and handmade (all but the netting).  
 
Can anyone tell me about this? I am assuming it was a 'dressing bonnet' wore by women at bedtime. Is it of any value, other than the excitement at discovering it?
