April 14 - 15, 1912 - Tonight, The RMS Titanic, en route to New York, will strike an iceberg 640 km south of Newfoundland. She would slowly sink in the small hours of the morning.
In all, approximately 1500 passengers and crew died, 9 were residents of Winnipeg.Others were coming to Manitoba for the first time.
There are Winnipeg, Neepawa, Eden, Portage la Prairie and, indirectly, a Boisevain connection to the sinking.
