For some reason dignitaries of old only seem to want to visit Brandon for less than 1 hour.
As was the case of the Powell’s, the former Mafeking leader and the world’s leading Pathfinder.
This visit was to last only 20 minutes, but it was an emotional packed interim that caused moist eyes among both participants and spectators as aging South African veterans once again greeted their former leader.
Robert Stephenson Baden-Powell and his life long partner Olave, stood to review approximately one thousand vestured Boy Scouts, Rangers, Cubs, Girl Guides, and Brownies who were lined along a Pacific Avenue draped in flags of the Union Jack.
Lord Baden-Powell was a symbol of universal unity, and during his visit to Brandon, neither prejudices nor class distinction, Doctrinal and economic boundaries were in existence.
