King George School almost 100yo!

I was walking the hall today and was thinking . . .
my son is a third generation King George'r. There is him, myself and my Dad and all siblings and cousins in between. I have such pride in that school both old and new.
My Grandfather built the 'old-new' part in 1979 as a mason. So that is one reason why I feel so familiar to those halls. THEN! I had the honour of being in the first class of kindergarten there, and then the first grade nine class as well in the newest part.
I remember as a younger child (1974 to pre-1979) walking with my mom to pick up my sister at the old-old King George and being in awe of those massive stairs that were in the front.
I have such pride to be involved in that school.
So when I did some digging up today, I learned that it was opened on October 11th, 1911! In 2 years, that 'Institution' will be 100 years old! The first Principal was a Miss Caroline 'Parkie' Parkinson and teacher was Gertrude Shea.
It may just be me, but I find all of this incredibly fascinating.
Does anyone have any memories of attending King George as well? Did your parents or grandparents attend there as well?
I wonder if an event is going to be planned to commemorate this anniversary.
Anyways .... I also added a pic to the right of the old-old King George.
