1910: The Brandon Asylum fire. 700 people fled, only one died when she wandered away in the confusion.

1907: One of Brandon's great movers and shakers dies: Dr. Stanley McInnis. Amazing what he accomplished in such a short time. They should name a park after him or something - oh wait, they did !

He MIGHT have visited Brandon: Nov 4, 1874, Francis Dickens, the son of novelist Charles Dickens, joins the North-West Mounted Police. He would serve until March 1, 1886.
