In Memory of Sherri Green (1970-2009)
9/17/2010 at 1:09 PM
It is one year since this nurse, and truck driver was brutally murdered in her cabin at Clear Lake.
It is hard to believe that this murder has remained unsolved. It would be nice if the RCMP could issue an update of their investigation.
Anyone with information regarding this incident are still urged to call the Wasagaming RCMP detachment at 204-848-2442 or Manitoba Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
At Ms. Greens funeral her families’ grief was shared with this poem written by her niece Vanessa:
Memories are painful yet pleasant at time:
It all depends on the person’s state of mind.
I remember you taught me well, how to stand up tall and fight at will.
You never did put me down:
You would always set me straight no matter the crowd.
You were like a second mother to me,
A shoulder to cry on and a friend if need.
You were always there when times were dark:
All we needed was your charming spark.
Yes we fought like children at time, but we would always just laugh it off.
I wont forget those happy times, when you’d admit to those witty crimes.
Every one new of our idiotic way’s, or laugh at those foolish days.
We never did give a care, when others over heard or stared.
You will never be forgotten nor replaced,
You made sure to leave your trace.
You made sure that you were rare,
The one and only as you would declare.
You are who you wanted to be,
Which is something you always taught me to be.
Be yourself and no one else, is something you taught me to remember.
You were wise and sometimes stern,
Which is something we’ve all learned.
You always speak your mind. No matter what the hurtful times.
I promise now to forever love,
the aunt who showed and taught me so much.
I won’t stop remembering the words you said,
That helped me clear my fuzzy head.
Now you rest in our hearts, forever there and never apart.
