William Wilson Alexander (1850-?) (Brandon Miller)

Was born on October 16th 1850 in Aberdeen, Scotland.
He was the son of William Alexander, a Mechanic (died in 1875) and Mary Johnston.
In 1860 he and his family moved to London Ontario. In 1865 he dropped out of school at age 15 to work in a milling, and grain business.
He arrived in Winnipeg on January first 1882, and moved to Brandon Manitoba in March 1882 and for one year operated a milling/lumber business with Archie Fisher.
Then he had a fifteen-year partnership with Andrew Kelly and Robert Sutherland in a Flour and Grain business.
In 1901 he withdrew from this company, and joined the milling/grain business with the Low Brothers, this company traded under the name of the Alexander Milling Company.
They produced in this flourmill 525 barrels per day, and also operated several elevators.
Mr. Alexander served on Brandon city council for 1 year and Brandon School Board for 12 years, two as Chairman. He was a Mason.
In 1875, he married Mary McIntosh Fisher, Daughter of Archie Fisher of Paisley, in Bruce County, Ontario.
They had nine children: Julie Pierre, Clara, Mary Isabel Ann, (Born 1883), George Molson, (Born 1885), Archibald McIntosh, (Born 1887), Frank Roy, (Born 1888), Margaret, (Born 1891), Florien Louise, (Born 1896), and Wilhelmina Olive, (Born 1898).
There is no record of his death.
