Nov 16, 1885 - Louis Riel hanged, aged 41
Nov 16, 1920 Constable James Uttley, Manitoba Provincial Police, dies of wounds suffered in a November 11 temperance raid on a hotel in Winnipeg. Another constable, Alexander McCurdy, was also killed in the raid.

Nov. 17, 2000: Winnipegers bid 124,250 Brit pounds at a Sotheby’s auction for the only known oil painting of Winnie the Pooh by E.H. Shepard. It’s currently on display in the Pavilion Gallery, Assiniboine Park.
Nov. 18, 1984: The Bombers defeat the Tiger-Cats 47-17 in the Grey Cup. Hamilton sets the Grey Cup record for fewest rushing yards (24).
Nov. 20, 1969 -- Fort Rouge Transit yard on Osborne St. opens.
November 20 1936: Ian Murray Bryson is hanged for shooting Winnipeg Police Constable Charles Gillis. In Jan 1936 Bryson held up a gas station at Donald and St. Mary's demanding thirty cents. Gillis and his partner responded and, as Bryson fled, shot Gillis. The two managed to arrest Bryson but Gillis died three weeks later in hospital.

November 21, 1919 the Golden Boy arrives in Winnipeg after spending years as ballast in the hold of a wartime supply ship.
