1945 Brandon Henderson's Directory shows at least houses on 1st Street North Curve on the West Side of Assiniboine River. This farm land was known as Town's Market Garden and was entered by 6 Strre North. Does anyone remember relatives who lived there and have some stories of these houses ? These houses seem to have no city water or indoor toilets and no road with a street name. All house seem to be gone by mid 1950s.

They are my relatives through marriage. There is still one living down there. We live on 5th street north and quite frequently walk the old market gardens. If you want any more information, please pm me

is this the land right off the road? looks like old empty lots? would this be public property now? I always wondered what was there

It's not public property it is privately owned, but is mostly flood land now

All the houses have been torn down long ago, only some rough foundations remain. I have some slides showing some of the houses in the 70s/80s that I have been meaning to scan. I can also ask my family to see if they have any more details. The land used to 'Town Brother's Market Garden', it was owned and operated by my grandfather Richard "Jim" Town and his brothers Robert and Gus. As far as I know, it was sold several years ago. I can dig up some more info if you would like.

People living on or near 1st North Property on 1945 were: George Lepard, Frank Lepard, Dick Town, Alister Meyers,
