Where to take my venison to get Deer sausage made
12/2/2009 at 8:36 PM
Now that I got my venison for the year, I'm looking at any suggestions as to where to take my meat to be processed into deer sausage.
I've had some good venison garlic sausage and venison rings done in the past but would like to find someone new to take it to.
I'd also want to take it to a place that I can be sure I am getting my own meat back instead of someone else's meat. I know that some places throw every one's meat together and then do a batch lot of meat and then divide it into portions. I don't want this. I take care in handling my meat and care in washing it, etc. The deer I've shot were standing and haven't been run on the hoof before being shot (ie full of adrenalin making the meat tough)
Any suggestions? And prices?
