Growing up with Ethnic food

I ran into a guy I knew at the German Pavillion honking down on Schnitzel and Bratwurst. He is of extreme Polish background and his Baba raised him when he lost his parents. Baba has been gone for about 10 years now.
I said to him in jest "I thought you's be chowing down at SOKOL hall with all those perogies and cabbage rolls!"
He said, "Are you kidding? I can't stomach that stuff anymore!" Poor guy - Baba force fed him so much of that stuff, he just can't go down that road!
Were you raised on ethnic food?
