I can't open the link to the place itself, but the idea of eating something cooked on coal (as in, the petro fuel) is unappealing. Unless they mean charcoal made from wood, like a bbq would have?  
 
I wonder how many novelty pizza joints Brandon can support?

Just what we need. Another pizza joint and more congestion at the corral centre. Seeing how we already have fired in town not sure how this adds anything to the pizza or restaurant scene.

I have heard before that there are ways to burn coal so it puts out quite a bit less emissions than other fuels (burns cleaner, more green, etc).

But...as much as they talk about authenticity, wood fired is also used in old world authentic pizza ovens. I wonder if the fuel used depends on what locality/region the oven is in?  
 
I am curious about the flavor. I can't imagine it being tasty, but they have enough restaurants open & are opening up more, so it sounds like I could be wrong.

Carbone's is one of my favourite places to eat in Winnipeg. So tasty! I'm excited that they're coming to Brandon, I think it will be a great fit.

is great, just wish it wasn't another pizza joint. The location seems odd as well, the only vacant spot I see at the Corral Centre is by EB Games, and hopefully they are not building a stand alone, that parking lot is the worst already.

The only place I can see non-existing room that isn't already built is in the southwest corner of the Walmart parking lot.

- the restaurant is called Fast Fired, from the same folks behind Carbone Pizza.  
 
- Its billed as fast-casual pizza, which as much as we have a lot of pizza restaurants is a new spin on it for Brandon. For anyone that might've tried a separate place called Blaze Pizza in the US, it sounds like there are some similarities. Pick unlimited toppings in a Subway-esque way, flat price, they cook it for you in 3 minutes.  
 
-there was a question a while ago about how their ovens work. They’re natural-gas fuelled that make use of a type of coal called anthracite (not to be confused with bituminous coal). - they're growing things quite quickly. In addition to this location they're opening six more in Winnipeg this year. I had a look at Blaze's website and I see they have a few in Alberta, a handful more coming sooner there and in BC but nothing in Sask or Manitoba. This looks like a very competitive niche in the coming years in Western Canada and it looks like Fast Fired are the ones building out a footprint in Manitoba.  
 
- for opening day they're looking at doing a giveaway of free pizza, tied in with their social media.  
 
- location they're building out in is where The Source once was in the Corral Centre  
 
- they are aiming to open by the end of this month  
 
Will update if I learn anything more of interest over the next couple weeks....

Fast Fired is like Za Pizza in Winnipeg, Za has 4 or 5 locations in Winnipeg. We tried it when we were in Winnipeg last month, its very thin, no taste to it.  
 
If Fast Fired uses the oven like Blaze or Za pizza its a gas oven, nothing compared to coal or wood fired oven. I would prefer the electric oven that most of the pizza places use compared to gas.

Has this restaurant opened yet? Or is there a opening date set yet?

I’m told Wednesday March 7 is the target date. I do always take exact dates with at least a slight grain of salt to account for the unexpected!

Meant to post this a few days ago, but they’ve had to revise their opening a touch to March 19 in lieu of construction delays... so no lining up today

To update, March 25 is the day it sounds like they’re promoting for opening.

One more delay. Sounds like they’re getting close and are looking at Wednesday.

Looks like official opening day is tomorrow March 29th, 2018 at 5pm. From their webpage it looks like the first 500 customers will get a free pizza.

Had a chance to give it a try at a soft opening they had. Enjoyed all the options between the different sauces, cheeses, meats, veg and thought the taste of everything I picked turned out great. My main reservation beforehand was that the $12 price point seemed just a touch high for something that I had placed in my mind in the same sphere as Quiznos, Subway, Qdoba... but the pizza you get is actually bigger than what I would normally see as a personal sized pizza (it would comfortably feed two of us, or make up two meals for me when re-heated the next day). Will be back.  
 
One point of interest for celiacs. They make their own gluten free/gluten friendly dough as opposed to the frozen stuff that you might sometimes run into.
