Luckily we have never been charged an extra fee for extra food left on the plate. Sometimes you take something that looks so good and then you take a bite and yuck! lol " |

In my experience, they are reasonable. A little bit (as in you did not like one thing) is fine, but leave a half a plate, and they will (and should) charge you. " |

a charge would scare me too, I like buffets because i can try things i wouldnt normally without the fear of throwing away $20 meal and leaving hungry because of my personal tastes. I do only take one to try until i know but some times i have been adventurous and not liked most things on my plate. I get its a bit of a waste but Buffets charge accordingly, if they didnt i wouldnt but they already do so adding an extra charge would not make me want to dine there as much " |

The beauty of a buffet is you can take in as large or small portions as you like. Trying a bunch of new stuff, take small portions to start, and if you like something, go back for more. Why load up a plate full when your not sure? Also no limit on the number of trips. Want to try a bunch of new things? Just start with a couple of items at first, in small portions. That's what I do when I try something new.
As for charging accordingly, if they did away with this charge, the price of all the meals would go up to reflect the loss waste. I for one like the charge. I would rather have my meal a buck or two less, rather than pay for those who want to waste.
