Class 5 road test tips

I am scheduled to take my road next week. I have heard that people hardly pass it on their first attempt so I am quite nervous. I was wondering if anyone could offer tips on what and what not to do during the test. Any helpful tips would be appreciated.

To relax , remember your instruction and if you do fail don’t worry. Very often those that have to take a couple of attempts at their test finish up becoming better drivers in the end.

Make sure all your car lights are working. We took my daughter and the 3rd brake light bulb was burned out and the road test was cancelled. Check all signal lights, park lights and brake lights.

Take a loooooong, deep breath. Most people fail the first try (me included) because of nerves. You won’t ever get rid of your nerves, so try to go into the test saying “I’m going to drive to the best of my abilities, but if I don’t get it in the first try, that’s ok”. Good luck to you!!

Might be too late for this, but book a driving lesson with one of the driving schools. They usually know the approximate route and can often tell if you’re ready or not or what needs work.
