Health and Safety Officer

?                    Lead and oversee the overall Safety Program, implementing existing programs and policies

?                    Have good written and oral communication skills

?                    Collaborate with management and supervisory staff to develop and implement new programs and policies, develop and modify safe work practices

?                    Advise management and supervisory teams on health & safety questions and issues, keeping records

?                    Verify on going compliance with programs and polices

?                     Supply orientation to new employees and training to employees as required

?                    Assist with workplace inspections, Workplace Health and Safety inspections, accident investigations etc.

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

?                    3-5 years experience in similar role in manufacturing

?                    Related education or certifications are an asset, (CHSEP designation)

?                    Be able to work from existing programs and policies, multi-task and prioritize

?                    Detail oriented and organized

?                    Class 5 drivers license and clean drivers abstract

?                    Proficient in Microsoft Office/ Open Office and related programs

All applicants must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs.
