POSITION DEscriptION
Purpose of the Position
The Recreational Program Coordinator works under the direction of the VDP Program Coordinator
to support the planning, coordination, and delivery of services at Avis?s Place, which serves as a
drop-in centre for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This role involves
fostering a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment that supports participants' personal growth,
social connection, and active community involvement.
Duties and Responsibilities
? Assist with Program Planning and Development
? Lead and implement small group and large group activities according to the programming
schedule
? Support a Safe and Positive Environment
? Supports, encourages and directs independent activities, both individually and in small
groups
? Assist with monthly newsletter and/or monthly calendar.
? Assist in arranging field trips
? Participate in Team Meetings and Projects
Preferred Skills and Qualification
? Age range 18 to 30
? Ability to plan activities
? Ability to work in groups and independently
Work Schedule: 37.5 hours per week. Schedule flexes based on activities
Salary: $16/hour
