About the Role
Westman Lumber Supply Ltd. is seeking a dependable and customer-focused Class 5 Delivery Driver to join our team.
This is a hands-on position combining local delivery work with order preparation, material handling, and general yard support. The successful candidate will safely deliver building materials to customers and job sites while providing professional, helpful service. When not completing deliveries, the driver will assist with loading customers, preparing orders, and maintaining an organized yard and warehouse.
Requirements
- Valid Manitoba Class 5 driver's licence with a clean driving record.
- Class 3 driver's licence is considered an asset.
- Forklift operator certification is preferred; training may be provided to the right candidate.
- Previous delivery, warehouse, lumberyard, or building-material experience is an asset.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Good organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and cooperatively as part of a team.
- Ability to safely perform repetitive lifting and physically demanding work.
- Reliable transportation to and from the workplace.
- Safety-conscious, dependable, and able to follow delivery instructions accurately.
Duties
- Safely deliver lumber, building materials, and customer orders throughout Brandon and the surrounding area.
- Verify orders before departure to ensure materials and quantities are accurate.
- Load and unload delivery vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Secure materials appropriately for transportation.
- Assist customers with loading purchases and provide a high level of customer service.
- Accurately pick and prepare orders for delivery or customer pickup.
- Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment, once trained and authorized.
- Complete required delivery documentation and communicate any delivery issues promptly.
- Help maintain clean, organized, and safe delivery vehicles, yard areas, and warehouses.
- Work with fellow team members to support daily yard and store operations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
