sudo modprobe mt7601u
If it's not there it will give an error, if it is there hopefully your wireless adapter will start working "

after my pswd it just showed the part where you are to do the command line after my name.
I tried the other thing again exactly as you wrote it and got this:
sherbear@sherbear-OptiPlex-7010:~$ ls /lib/modules/$(uname -r)/kernel/drivers/net/wireless/mediatek/mt7601u
mt7601u.ko
sherbear@sherbear-OptiPlex-7010:~$
I'm sorry if I'm doing this wrong...here's a screen shot tried it again...
