It may not have been their choice to change their email service, but it is their responsibility to provide a service that has some reasonable level of spam and virus protection.
My old email address is busy sending out spam mail to everybody who I ever emailed for the past 5 years. I don't even log on to the old email anymore, and changed the password to it but it is still happening. I know this because I have the mail from that service forwarded over to my Gmail account, and I end up seeing all the undeliverable message notices in my spam folder. At times, the old email address has even sent out the spam attacks using my email but the name of one of the others who I have emailed in the past.
I have been a customer for years, but between the crappy email service and the constant delays in the internet service, I am about fed up.
