How old is your computer? It'll either be on a sticker on the side of the computer, the box (if you bought windows), your email receipt (if you bought it that way) or hidden on your computer. This happened to us with a new computer (and we weren't given a product key) we called Microsoft and they fixed it for us. Hope that helps.
