We've just moved to Brandon and are looking to get internet hooked up in our home. We are sick and tired of dealing with intermittent or slow service and want the best there is in the city. We will have multiple devices being used on it being cell phones, computers and programming devices such as Apple tv/Roku.  
Any opinions to help guide us in our decision would be greatly appreciated.

Move to Virden and get Fibre installed for $600

Also, you get more for your money than you do from MTS.

We have Westman, just the basic Wave package, nothing special. At any given time, we can have a couple of laptops, iDevices and/or a Roku all going at the same time and it's been good.  
 
We tried MTS for awhile and I was so fed up after a month we went back to Westman.  
 
We also have the Westman Home Phone which has been really good for us too.

If you have cell phones with MTS then they have some pretty good bundle deals with internet.

I'd have to move to Virden to utilize this service? That won't be happening! I may look into it anyway. I had heard about this one before.

Or just move to a new area in Brandon. They all have fibre from MTS.

Depending on where you live in Brandon Westman has fiber too and free install. The idea of paying $600 for an install is totally ridiculous. Westman does offer two speed that you can only get on a fiber connection 150Mbps and 300Mbps but I personally have not needed the additional speed. I have gone from Wave to Ultranet and am now on Nitro with a wife and two kids who are HEAVY users for both wireless streaming and the number of devices connected at any one time. (3x cell phones 4x computers 4x gaming systems android boxes etc.)  
 
I have used both Westman and MTS in the past and find that Westman provides faster speeds by about 20% for the same dollar.  
 
Anyway just wanted to throw that out there and let you know that this idea if you pay $600 for a fiber install the experience is better is so not true.

Westman gets my vote. Rarely any problems with the internet but had MTS and seemed every little while from time to time there would be a crappy day of internet service.

$600 doesn't sound so bad when you've seen a $10 000 fibre install quote from MTS

Westman For sure. RF Now is if you live outside the city not serviced by MTS Or Westman for high speed internet..  
 
 
RF Now is meant for RURAL service mainly, and now leech off MTS fiber and resell it. (hence the STEEP price per month)

RFNow connects to Shaw's fibre, it has nothing to do with MTS. MTS sold off their big fibre runs (Allstream)

Thanks everyone for your input. It helped me quite a lot. I think I'll be heading toward Westman :-)
