My 55" Panasonic TV decided to quit showing a picture, still have sound and I did the light test (can see picture behind the blackness with flashlight). Has anyone had this happen and got repaired? By who? Cost? Or just buy new? Thanks just really hoping its not garbage or an arm and a leg to fix.

Mortech Electronics on First Street fixes televisions. They can give you an estimate before doing the repair. I think we paid around $60 when they repaired a similar issue with our Samsumg TV. Locally owned and reasonably priced.

Depending on the problem and make of the tv, some businesses don't like helping out because "they don't make money on parts". Your issue could be very easy to fix. It would help if we knew what kind of tv it was: led, plasma, lcd

You have a backlight problem, its either an lcd or led set, plasma will not show the picture with a flashlight(no backlight on plasma).
