It is good that most internet provider will message you when your close to your plan limit, But after checking usage over the past amount of time there are months where barley one half of the allotted Gb have been used, I see greed here, the usage has been bought and paid for,so why not apply the unused portion to ones overage? Not to mention the least top up amount is 30.00, even when they estimate one may be 3 Gb over, id like to hear some opinions that hopefully re4late to this topic. And if anyone knows a provider that will give you what you are paying for.

If you are in a rural area and can't get mts, you may only have access through netset,rfnow, or xplorenet. Each of these has data caps. I'm with netset, and overage charges are $2.00/GB

Where are you from? Their coverage is expanding. Might not hurt to give them a call to see if they have plans for your area.

The minimum Netset top up is 30$, now that sounds fair if overage is 2$ per g, if your over by a couple of g they want 30$ to top up before hand, i didnt realize i was getting ripped that much.Have to look into RF, but were rural, not sure

we could get something other than Netset...We pay 150.00+ each month for internet. We dont watch Netflix( I wish!) but I do have kids that like to use the xbox....and now every game needs to be updated continously.  
I am constantly on the portal monitoring our usage....and to pay the extra needed for the overages.  
If anyone has alternatives to what has been mentioned ...PLEASE..... let us know. We are also in the areas that the above mentioned dont service

We have had this for years, rural with no MTS choice. Seems to work for us. 79.09 for 30 gb taxes in. This mornings bill, for Jan so current.

Just remember that MTS has been sold to Bell so the days of unlimited data may be coming to an end.  
I don't understand about the "not getting MTS" in rural Manitoba. If you have a MTS land line, should you not be able to sign up for MTS highspeed as well.

No. There must be finer optic cable installed. I live only 5 miles out of town and can't get any MTS internet or TV due to the lines that are installed

The real kicker is that Netset used to send out a marketing email that was like "you might go over this month" but it wasn't related to your actual usage. And that was before they send out any warning, so they would send you a 'warning' in a month when you weren't going to go over, and no warning for when you went over.

One thing to keep in mind is that Netset is a CCTS participating service provider. You can send complaints to the CCTS as long as it something that fits in with their mandate
