I asked a kinda similar question before, and didn't really get the answer I was looking for, so I will try to be more clear this time.  
 
Who out there who has the new Tivo system from Westman cable, has an external hard drive? If so, where did you get it, how much was it, and how big (storage wise) is it?

An esata external hard drive is needed to expand the storage on the TiVo unit. You can buy them at any computer store. Range from $100 - $500 depending on the size. You will have to powerdown TiVo and then plug in External HD. Turn them both on then wait for reboot and if it doesn't prompt you it will be in the settings menu - remote & device settings - external storage. You have to let TIVo format it to its format and away you go.

not just ANY esata drive will work. I have one that I used with the Arris system, and it will not work with the Tivo. This is why I asked for people who have the Tivo from Westman, and an external drive, which one they have.

Even though I followed the proper procedures, and the Tivo system ALWAYS said that it did not recognize my drive, it was in fact wrong? Never knew of an electronic device that ever lied to me just for shoots and giggles. Go figure, learn a new thing every day.

What is the brand and model, as well as the size of your external Tivo drive?
