I see that Westman now offers higher speed internet connection without additional cost. Ran speedtest and I am getting higher speed up and downloads. Good news!

Indeed, it looks like Ultra and higher speeds went up. And there is a new tier between Nitro and the next one up that I didn't know about before.

That's fantastic news. I wonder what Bell-MTS next move will be (if any). I can see them losing lots of customers if they do nothing.

I see a lot of complaints in the Bell MTS forums about the slow speeds and no answers.  
 
I guess Bell MTS has no plans on increasing the speeds. Only the price.

They are rolling out 1GBPS internet on Fiber, Westman only does a tiny 360MBPS for almost as much as Bell MTS charges for 1GBPS.  
 
Yes 1GBPS isnt currently avaliable in Brandon but it is on the way. You can find out if you are eligible on their website.

Gigabit should be available in areas with fibre to the home.

Would like to support Westman and have had no issues with their services in the past, but I would lose my MTS bundle savings if I did so.  
 
Currently paying $128.82 with MTS for Lightning 25mbps and my smartphone plan. Bill is $72 internet, $72 phone, minus $30 bundle savings, plus taxes. Switching to Westman (after the intro offer of course) would mean paying $80.66 for internet and still $81.36 to MTS for the cell totalling $162.02.  
 
Increase of $33.20 per month isn't worth it for me for an extra 15mbps speed. Outside of bulk downloads I find 25mbps works more than fine for my needs even up to 4k streaming or multiple 1080p Netflix streams around the house.  
 
Does Westman still charge rental for their wifi router too? I think they did when I was with them years back. MTS one is poor but that has to be considered as well.

Regular Wave plan is still only 12Mbps for me. Price keeps increasing every year. At least they don't have data caps like our friends in other provinces

I have Westman Ultranet. Just for curiosity, I checked the speed. Its a lot faster, no complaints whatsoever.

And it's more than enough...what would you even do with 1gb/s at home?
