My ipad is dead, I can't even use it anymore even if its plugged in. Is there anywhere that you would recommend getting a battery replaced for an ipad? What kind of price am I looking at? Is it just as cheap to buy a new one? ugh....

I have bought batteries from here (I never even looked to see if they had I Pad batteries)

You may want to check out Amazon.ca they have many sources to choose from with free shipping. I order regularly from there and have little to no issues. I have ordered replacement batteries for power tools and even though they were not the actual brand name for that power tool but a second source it works fine even to this day.

The process for initiating this repair is the same as for iPads under warranty.  
 
That's a good price for getting your iPad working again, but you should consider that cost versus the cost of getting an entirely new iPad. If the iPad whose battery has failed is pretty old, it may be better to use that $99 towards the cost of buying a new iPad rather than repairing an old oneE

Andrew replaced a screen for me but I believe he also does batteries.

another possibility is the charging port is broken, seems weird you cant even use it when plugged in, so maybe best to take it somewhere to check first, depending on the price of a battery

it's probably the charger port if its not you can order a battery case that you just put on the unit instead of having it opened up to install a factory battery, but by the sounds of it the charge port might be pooched
