It to the mall and get that guy that sits in the little booth by as seen on tv store i think.. he will reset it. Thing is you will loose everything that is not in iCloud. All you need is your apple ID password and he can open it.

I know Glen or John could help out at Brandon Computers, they are working with that kind of stuff all the time!

Your apple password or the iPad password you forgot ? If it's apple password you will have to call apple . If it's the iPad then connect the iPad to computer and hold down the power and home button together . This will put it in recovery mode then follow the steps in iTunes . I have done this for my iPad and iPhones . Good luck .

You shouldn't have to take it in for some other guy to find out from google . Just google it . Lots of helpful tips online . Good luck .

Did this very thing with my phone recently and could help you out. Inbox me...

The steps mentioned will restore your iPad if you’ve forgotten your passcode and have, or haven’t synced with iTunes. I think maybe you’re messing up the steps.  
 
Do this....  
Power off iPad  
Open iTunes on your Mac, ensure it’s the current iTunes  
Plug data cable (charging cable) into Mac (ONLY THE MAC)  
Push and HOLD home button on iPad AS you plug data cable into iPad  
KEEP HOLDING HOME BUTTON UNTIL YOU SEE RECOVER SCREEN.  
Click Restore.  
 
If this doesn’t work, DO IT AGAIN as I described it. It works, it always works. If you don’t go into recovery mode, your doing it wrong.  
 
You said you stopped at iCloud. Did you set up iCloud? Do you remember your Apple ID and Password? If so, you are in luck, and there is another super easy to recover your iPad. Let me know if you have, and I’ll post the steps to recover.

Normally, I think telling people to Google something is redundant.  
 
However, it is the top result from the company, and basically holds your hand through the whole process.

If you are a technophobe, go back to the mason from which you bought the brick.

Go to best buy. They can unlock for $30

There are three local PC shops in town that would be able to unlock your phone if the only is issue is a forgotten passcode. Best Buy/Staples is not the go to solution for IT services. The can give you a better price on sales almost every time, but never on services.
