Mountain Lions in Manitoba

Although rare, the Cougar sighting in the linked article below (in Lac Du Bonnet) is a reminder that the big cat can be found in our province:

There's some debate as to whether Cougars in the province are simply ones travelling from A to B or if they are actual residents. In general their population has been spreading more East as we hear more stories of sightings and killings of the animals in the North Dakota badlands (7 killings so far this year). This map shows where their range is known to be:
